Washers

I'm currently restoring a 1977 F150 4wd. The service manual shows washers that go inside the cups of the tailgate hinges. I don't remember seeing them when I took the tailgate off so I'm wondering what they are supposed to look like and be made of. Anybody know? Are they available anywhere?

I have also seen that some type of washers are available to fit between the bed and the frame rails. Were these used on all trucks like mine?

I dont remember washers in the tailgate cups but the bed to frame are just body washers to adjust your bed height so your lines are straight.

They are all for keeping your body lines straight. They ones in the tailgate keep it centered. Maybe put the tailgate in then see if there is any play in it or off centered.

My tailgate hinges did have washers in the cups, I thought they were just there to help prevent the cups from rubbing against the body there. idk. probably wont make much difference, the hinges and the latch on the tailgate are both designed to operate with a fairly large degree of misalignment.

No, I don't... and I think I scrapped all that hardware since I don't have a tailgate anymore.
