willowbilly3 is gaining momentum as a positive member of FTE.
Have you thought about taking your core to a local rebuilder?

The starter construction is fairly basic, with very few parts inside. If the shaft turns freely, you might only need a pair of brushes. If you elect to perform the job youself, a rebuild kit will run about 1/4 the price of a remanufactured unit. Most rebuild kits will include new bearings, a reconditioned armature, and brushes. The brush springs and field coils should be fine unless they have been damaged by decades of rust. Rebuild kits can be obtained from Concourse Parts, Mac's, Sacramento Vintage Ford, etc.
