61 econoline transmission mount

New to the econoline family, but trying to catch up. In looking over my 61 p/u, i see the rear tranny mount is really shot. This is the one the tranny "hangs" from. I cant seem to find a replacement anywhere. I've checked with most of the places that sell parts for the econoline series. It looks somewhat like a donut with a bolt running thru it. The best i see if for a 61/62 falcon, but i dont know if its the same? Any leads where to get one for my E10.

well..i've only crawled under the p/u a couple of times. i see the tranny is suspended by this "mount". from one side it looks just as i described. guess i'll look in more detail.

On the other hand...regardless of what it is, i need one. so where do i find the correct tranny mount for a replacement.

Welcome to the site.
Those round donut tranny mounts are in 61 to 64 Econolines. Sadly I do not know where to get one. I thought of a way to help would be to go to a spring shop and have them fit a rubber bushing in to fit.
If you do not fix it soon. The casting around the hanger will crack and break and then you got more expense.
I find it hard to get a replacement tailshaft housing with the hanger to replace.
But see if any place that makes leaf springs can fix you up with a press in bushing.

1961-1963 transmission donut is different from the similar 1964 donut.

Here is a post on how to make your own.

Nice to see an alternative way to remedy the tranny conut.

How is the 64 donut different. I have 2 64's van and truck and they have the donut. I will admit I do not have an older one. I have 2 67 trucks. I found the 65 and up change the mounting system altogether. 64 and down had the donuts. I'm just wondering if 64 year they were in change over of the tranny mounts.
Also maybe in Canada they were a bit later in the change from donut to flat bolt up.

I believe your saying 64 still had a donut mount, but was different in bushings or mounting. ?

I've never been under a 61-63, but I remember reading somewhere that the 61-63 donut is different from the 64 donut.

I just checked the Ford Truck Parts books, and I'm more confused, since it seems to indicate that the donut mount was used until at least 1972, the last year of my parts book. We all know that they changed from the donut in 1965.

I read about someone taking a E4SZ-5A638-A and cutting off 1/4" to make it work as a transmission donut.

C1UZ-6068-A .. Transmission Mount - 'donut' type, fits into extension housing / Obsolete ~ AFAIK, not reproduced.

Applications: 1961/64 Econoline (all models, not just pickups).

No Ford Dealer or obsolete parts vendor has any.

Sorry, I was thinking about automatic transmissions.

The 1961-1964 transmissions used the donut mount. The automatic trans was first available in Econolines in 1964, which makes it unique, since it mounts differently from the later models.

Rear trans mount

You can make one, I made mine a little time back for my 63.
Make it from mustang parts, I was thinking of making them and selling them as there are no replacements available that I'm aware of
