ATI or RDS Auxillary Tank?
Hello All, I have a 2012 short bed F350 crew cab SRW. I am considering either an ATI 51 gallon vertical diamond plate auxillary tank or the RDS 45 gallon vertical diamond plate transfer/auxillary tank. With only a short bed and also mounting a 20" wide Weatherguard toolbox, I don't want to take up more bed space than what I need to. Each of the vertical tanks have about a 9 to 10" width. Any thoughts as to an ATI or RDS tank? Fuel connection will made through the fuel fill pipe. I believe the RDS tanks are cheaper by a few hundred from Northern Tool. In addition, whould you mount the tank on a rubber mat or not, even the bed is Rhino lined? Thanks for any information. As you can tell from the questions, I am new to all of this stuff.

Your gallery shows a 2012 F350 CC (Long-Bed) Dually... not a 2012 F350 CC (Short-Bed) SWD. Please confirm which truck you are researching. Also, I assume that it has a diesel engine.
Here are the ATI auxillary diesel tanks:

I have the RDS 60 gallon tank/toolbox combo in my short bed. I love it! I plumbed it into the factory fill line and put a fuel pump on a switch in the cab. I can now refuel cruising down the highway. I tow a 5th wheel, so I wanted a tank that sat below the bed rails, had a small tool box for random junk and 60 extra gallons was more than enough. Let me know if you want any pics of it.

I've got a 97 gal RDS. Pretty big. Removed the tool box and mounted gasoline tank for quads, airplane and such. Just drains into main tank, stays ahead of usage. I added an elect solenoid to control it from upfitter switch. I get a fuel gauge code if left on. Have'nt seen an ATI.

ATI Tank Installed
I just installed the 41 gallon ATI rectangular tank. Pictures will soon follow. I have been keeping the auxiliary tank valve open and the factory dash mounted analog fuel tank level indicator depicts the factory onboard tank is full, yet the driver display computer that provides mileage to empty keeps on going down in mileage. Initially the mileage to empty display was staying at around 400 and for some reason it is now indicating the factory onboard tank fuel level is decreasing. Any thoughts? The ATI provided "T" connector was installed on the fuel fill tube.

Hello, I don't think they have yet to release "exactly" what is going on. This is a "rebuilding" year so I believe much has to be practiced and sorted out for next year. We lost so much when Weeden and Blackmon graduated, but that's what rebuilding years are all about. Hopefully the issues will be worked out by next year!

I am trying to figure why my dash board fuel guage is staying on the full mark, yet my "miles to empty" display keeps on going down in mileage. This mileage number should represent a full tank of diesel since the auxiliary tank is keeping the on board factory tank full, as the dash board fuel guage depicts!
