Questionable on my short bed, however, I believe yes on a long bed. On my short bed, the toolbox rear edge is about 12" from where a gooseneck connection would be made.

I also wanted to say I had this tank in my short bed truck and I also used a SuperGlide 5th wheel hitch. Never had any problems.

I did not install my fuel tank this weekend because this got in the way.



I did however get some pics and part numbers for you.

Carter Part Number is P60504. They can be found for around $40 if you shop around.



I do not have any pics of the fuel water seperator. It is a typical filter block and fuel/water seperator filter. I'll try and get some of those this week. Hope that helps a little bit.

 

I spoke with Robert from ATI yesterday, he is very knowledgable and friendly, to order a tank. A few minutes on the phoneand the order is placed for a custom tank. They are notching the tank so that it fill sit closer to the bulkhead. They are also adding an extra 2" bung on the passenger side along with a fuel gauge on the driver side. He is supposed to be emailing plans for me to sign off on later today. Did I mention that it should be in my possesion in less then 3 weeks.

 

What is the reasoning behind everything? Did you get a tool box? How much more did it cost?

 

I am gaining almost 2 inches of bed space because of the notch out for that lip. I have a short bed with a tool box leaving me about 50 inches. Every inch counts when you are moving pallets. The up charge was 70 for custom, plus they are adding a second 2" bung in case I want to add a pump down the road.

 

How many gallon? I also have a shortbed...

 

about 47 - I am only loosing 4 gal or so

 

Glad to hear everything is working out on your tank order! ATI produces a superior product and the customer service is nothing short of first class! I am looking forward to the pictures. Don't forget to put a rubber mat below the tank!

 

i asked about a rubber mat and the response I got was only use it if I am concerned about the finish of the truck bed. I was also told to make sure the rubber goes under the mounding tabs if I use one. I am not sure if I will since I have a line x liner.

 

My tank has set on a LineX liner in 2 different trucks--the area under the tank looks much better than the rest of it...it does not move around so it doesn't wear on the liner.

I have a rhino liner and used a 1" rubber mat that was cut to fit the tank bottom and mounting tabs. Our tanks are made from diamond plate top and bottom and because of this, I did not want the small diamond plate edges to wear through the liner from vibrations over the years and eventually cut through the paint and into the truck bed metal. A nice quality rubber mat will prevent this from taking place. Some posts ago I had commented on where I get my rubber mats from. Their prices are reasonable and they sell top quality rubber and they custom cut the product for you. To keep the diamond plate tank bottom from wearing through your bed liner and paint, I would use a rubber mat. Just one less thing to worry about in the long run.

 

OK - I have decided a rubber mat would be a good idea. What are your thoughts on a product like a deezee bed mat? Obviously I would cut it so that it is only under the tank.
