I may have my "saddle tank" definition wrong but I have 2 trucks with them and they are both OEM. I am referring to the tank on the drivers side of the truck in front of the axle between the frame and drive shaft.
Oh, I've always heard "saddle tank" to mean like a semi tank, mounted outside the frame rails. My thinking was they were like saddle bags, that hang on the outside of the horse.
