What motor mounts are used with CPP tubular crossmember for 351m/400/351c ?

Hi everybody. I was wondering if anybody knows what motor mounts are used with the tubular crossmembers. It seems when I google, I read about people saying "they had the same ones at (parts store) for $10." Mid fifty and CPP want about $50 for the mounts....

I just can't seem to figure out if these mounts are available at any parts store or if they're "special" to the crossmember.

We're planning on getting the engine and transmission out of the '79 and fitted into the '56 in a couple weeks! (after the bar exam..)

Here is the pic of the mount on CPP's website. The ones on the Oreilly/autozone websites do not look the same...

There could be a dozen or more insulators that fit the C/M engines, so there's no way to know which one the crossmember is designed to use without asking the manufacturer. It's likely made by Trans-Dapt, as they were the number one maker of conversion crossmember mounts.

Thanks, that makes sense. Since I haven't ever done a swap, I didn't even have the concept that someone makes conversion crossmember mounts clear in my head...

I just assumed (incorrectly) that everyone made their crossmember to fit stock mounts!

Thanks. I will have to call em up.

351C uses the 351W/302 mounts. (2 bolts to the block at a 45 degree angle to the block surface)

351M/400 uses the '70-something Tbird mounts, I think? Don't quote me on that. I have a set of them, but not the crossmember. I thought I read somewhere that's what they were. Regardless, you won't get those for $10. I spent about $50 for the Tbird mounts, which look similar to the ones in your photo-link. (3 bolts to the block flush with the block surface)

Probably doesn't help much, but here's a pic of my '79, which were a bit different than the earlier ones.
