New truck - 78 F250 Snowfighter

Just picked up this 78 F-250 Snowfighter. Dana 60s front and rear. 460/c6/205. I wanna get everything mechanical in good shape/rebuilt. I started looking at rebuild kits for the front, and a few other things. Anyone have a good source to buy front end rebuild kits? Also, what hubs will work? It has two different hubs currently(4wd works great, just don't like the non matching hubs). When the mechanicals are all redone, then I'll start on a body swap. Keeping my eyes open for a nice box and front end. Has posi in the rear, too.

If that is the original cab it is not a Sno-Fighter. All Sno-Fighters came with cab lights.

It is likely not a sno-fighter due to the previously mentioned clearance lights, but it has the heavy front, and that's what counts. Post a picture of the alternator if you would. The passenger side lockout is the original type spicer unit, which are very desirable. I would look into finding a matching spicer for the driver side. Nice find by the way.

I guess I was under the impression all f-250s that had 60 fronts were sno fighters. I will get a pic of the alt after I clean the truck up and get rid of the terrible looking razor back.

A D60 front did not designate a Sno-Fighter optioned truck. I have the OE brochure in my gallery on the Sno-Fighter options if you want to check it out. A front D60 could be ordered in any F-250 truck. Your D60 front is a major bonus.

I'm not sure why he wants a picture of the alternator. 30 years later and who knows what changes have been made.

The alternator on a sno-fighter truck dwarfs a standard alternator. It's very true that at some point in it's history it could have been *******ized in any number of ways. That said, every dana 60 truck I've bought has been a sno-fighter, and every one was still equipped with the requisite monster alternator. I'm sure the high capacity alternator may have been available a la carte, but it's just another clue as to weather or not it was a sno-fighter originally.

Maybe I'm mistaken again(kinda new to fords), but this wouldn't of originally had a 460, so the alt is not going to be original regardless right
