Comon man, that's a paid for commerical. In the interest of balance of opinions I have posted the EPA report above.

I have read it numerous times.........I think you missed a few key points to that, I posted them as a reply to your thread....alot of people like to point out "bad" things about BIO ...most of them are issues from when Bio first came out, its come a long way since it first came out.

Go to the biodiesel basics tab at the top of the page in my link I posted above, then click on myth's/facts tab......

Yeah I read it and I admit the bio we are buying today is a long ways from the french fry oil we started with. I even agree it is a good thing to lower petro demand by 20%. But I don't think we have the answer yet. My personal experience resulted in an oil report with 6% + dilution from bio fuel. They can tell me until their nose bleeds that oil dilution at that level doesn't harm the engine, but I ain't buying it. The DPF technology being used in our diesels and the biodiesel are not a good match. And the thing that really gets my attention is the government both federal and many states forcing me to use a product that forces me to be a federal law breaker to use. If it's such a good product put it on the open market and let it compete with regular diesel. Then we will see what it does even at a subsidised price.

that 6% may not have been from the Bio? I understand you where in Bio country when it all happened but it could very well be a coincidence ?????

I like you don't agree with the "politics" some of us have to go through to get where we want to be, but I know for a fact that since I have started to burn
B-20 in my truck it runs better, cleaner and in fact I get a CONSISTANT 17.5 to 18.3 hand calcd' mixed driving . I can and will tell you that there are different types of feedstock for Bio and I know my truck loves it!

I have been using mandated bio since 2010 and the highest fuel dilution was 2% on a 5,700 mile change.

Hey, what happened to my EPA report? Can somebody just remove it? I want to forward it to the NBB (national biodiesel board) and see what their response is.

Oh, well I guess I was having a senior moment there. I'll find it later. My air card is so slow where I am I could bake a cake between posts. Yeah, now that I think about it I did start another thread with that. Thanks.

Interesting but doesn't apply to most southern users. We don't use number 1 and don't need to. I think the B1 problems were what kept MN from implementing their B20 mandate this May. Also, there is no change for B5 and below. The main question remains, will Ford state that the 6.4L engine can withstand B6 and above. Until that happens no one owning one of those trucks should use it.
