I have a 2001 Lincoln Navigator and would like to know if it I can swap a bench seat (60/40/60) from an Expedition into my Navigator. I am looking for a direct swap. Any information would be much appreciated.

I spent a half a day at a salvage yard checking to see if a 2001 Expedition bench seat would fit into my 2001 Lincoln Navigator. After taking a look at the seat, I decided to remove my bucket seats/center console to ensure that the Expedition’s bench would fit. I found that an Expedition’s bench seat WILL NOT swap into a Navigator and ended up not purchasing the seat. Just thought I would post my experience to save others time.<O</O

 

I think everyone here was under the impression you were swapping a bench for a bench. You can still swap a bench for a the captains chairs, or vice versa for that matter, but you need to utilize some knock outs in the floor. The attachment points are built into the vehicle for either configuration and depending on how the car is built out, they use the ones they need. If you explore around here a bit you will find the threads where it has been discussed.

The dual captains chairs didn't start until 2003. The floor pans between 03 and the previous generation are different so you are out of luck I think.

 

Oh i meant 2 bucket seats and a center console, 2 kids and a new baby here, i need the extra seat so i can put the stroller in the back. Theres no way i can fit the stroller if i use the third row seats. I saw a 60/40 bench from a 2000 expedition on ebay gray leather that matches my interior and that kinda gave me an idea. Thanks!

 

My bad, and on top of it I was wrong on the start of the dual set up. The swap you are talking about is possible I would bet. There may be some work to expose and utilize the correct attachment points, but they will at least be there.

 

you sure about this. i just saw a 09/01 expo in the jy with dual captains chairs, which has me searching to see if i can put them in my 98.

I'm looking to do the same thing for my 04 Navigator. For my year as best as I can tell has the attachment points. I'd imagine yours would fit to with a little work to modify the carpet to expose the attachment points. Please post a reply if you do it. I'll be doing mine in a couple weeks. Negotiating price on the seat still
