Crown Vic year models for IFS

You need a 2003 or newer CV. 2003 was the first year with the aluminum beam and the bolt in IFS. When you are looking for the parts also try using P71 in your search. P71 is a common reference for the police interceptor variants. I heard of one person doing a body swap onto the CV frame but didn't bookmark it so I don't have any details. For my build I picked up the IFS and the rear axle and suspension along with all four wheels for $450.

If I had it to do over again, I would buy a wrecked CV Police Interceptor. Then I would change the front suspension along with the police car motor, transmission, engine wiring harness, and computer. Then I would use the police car to convert my truck to have power windows. Once it's all said and done I would take the PI to the scrap yard and get a little money back on it.
But I didn't. Someone told me that the reason you can't outrun a police car is because their computer will not shut off the motor at any speed. A normal car will shut down the motor after you reach a certain speed. So imagine the laws you could break with the exact same setup as them haha.
Good luck with your search!
