All things considered, where can you get the power increase that kit will give you for $1000? The dollar-per-incremental HP scale is pretty steep, and that seems a "bargain"...maybe. ymmv.

now that i think about it that was a stupid question, if i go 445 then ill have a 1ub crank, the rods and pistons up for sale so somebody can make their very own 410...
gunna have to call survival and see what they recomend to go along w/ their 445.
then onto placing orders...

You'll likely need a different flywheel/flexplate. The 410 used one with a counterweight, and I'm pretty sure the Survival 445 kit is fully balanced internally, so you'll need the flex/fly for a 390 without the weight on it.

soooo, iv been taking my time, and changing my mind time to time... but its gettin close to that time...
iv been eyeballing a decent 428 block for a while now, thinking greedily about the power a 465 would make...
its quite abit more convent to assemble a short block before i tear the truck apart since it is my daily driver.
gunna be crappy gas milage no matter the build so why not huh!!! may just have to give up my 4.11 gears

maby a roller cam too while im at it? good or bad idea for a daily driver and occasional off road adventure... or would a regular hydraulic cam be best?
there is nothing wrong w/ my 410 at the moment, so i have time to over build!

Hell I ended up throwing away 3 360/390 blocks before I found one that was worthy of my 445 biuld. Paid $250 for the fourth one, thank god it was good after .030 over.

First one was too rusty, after .060 the rust was still bleeding through. Second one had a wrist pin that slid out, and put a HUGE gouge in one cylinder( kept that one though, may sleeve that cylinder for another build) The third one had broken piston rings on 2 cylinders, so a again huge 1/4" wide gouges.

When scrap prices went up, alot of nice old FE engines got crushed, so they are MUCH harder to find for cheap now

Well its been a few years, but Iv finally made up my mind, and ordered all the parts for a 416 mild(ish) build... Just got to save up a few more bones for some CNC work on the heads...
Maybe Ill have the motor built before the end of the year?!!
