PCV setup
I need some advice on how to set up the PCV system on my 292. Basically it's a blower engine minus the blower. Now 301ci. The block is blue printed. I have seen on high performance engines where they routed the hoses from the breather to the collector of the headers without a PCV valve. Is this practical for a street driven truck or should I use a conventional setup with a valve going to the intake manifold or how about a hose without a valve to the manifold? I have the later model valley pan for PCV set-up.

PCV setup
PCV that's stands for positive crankcase venting, and on the Yblocks and flatheads that's great idea because of so much pressure from the intake that is causes to much pressure in the oilpan and that causes the rearmain oil seal to leak, the way I did it was to blockoff the sidebreather of the block or if it is a 62-292 block that is already blocked, this must be done before you attept to put a rubber plug in vally cover under the intake with a hole the size of a PVC valve form like a 302, once then one way valve is in hook a vacuum line to the intake to draw all pressure into the manifold for reburn'n.
I also did this with a flathead with a lot of miles on it, without ever having an oil leak
