Excursion brakes

Hi all

On my 03 Excursion with the 7.3L,

I had a brake pulsing problem, so I brought it to the local Ford dealer. They replaced all 4 pads and the rear rotors. The pulsing has stopped, but the vehicle don't stop worth a damn, especially when pulling a trailer.

Brought it back to the dealer twice, they say nothings wrong. I drove this one 90,000 miles and my previous one 250,000. I know how it's supposed to stop

What to do now?

Purchase different pads such Hawk LTS, Hawk Super Duty, or give CarboTech a call.

Have you bled your brake fluid? If no, it is probably a good idea to get some fresh fluid in there.

You may need to replace the rubber brake lines and bleed them again. When they age, they tend to swell when pressure is applied and can give you a softer pedal, longer stopping distance or both. They are not expensive and easy to do.
