Ford 360/390

I was wondering would I found a junk 390 with good rods and it is a 1965 or 1966 390 and I have a 1975 ford 360 and I was wondering would this work if I did the 390 conversion and used these rods with a 390 crank? Does the year make a difference?

Year doesn't matter.

I suppose you already know the trick of putting 360 pistons on the 390 rods/crank for a cheap way to bump CR into the mid 9's.......
If looking for massive power, forged pistons would be better. But for a mild-ish street build, the stock cast 360 pistons are pretty much the same as older 390 car pistons....

For the price of the forged pistons it can stay the same!

Ya 390 crank and rods is a poor man's stroker kit for the 360. If you can get a cheap 4 barrel intake and carb it will breath better and help increase milage if you don't have a heavy right foot.
