Becoming fustrated with edge tuner

I have owned a edge tuner for 2 or maybe more years now. The longer I have owned it the less I like it but it does have some value still. I like how it "turns down the traction control" and forces the truck to downshift when it normally would act like a mule and slug through the wrong gear.

It started acting up about a year ago. Mostly doing funny things with the display but slowly translating into odd shifting and a long list of goofy things I do not wish to get into. but for the sake of this thread I'll tell about one. While shifting from first when the tuner is on it would miss the shift.
Example: tuner is set to shift at 5k but wont shift until 5.4k after the truck has hit some rev limiter. And if the truck actual rev limiter is set below 5.4k it won't shift until you get out of the gas. With the tuner off the truck is 5k all day and firm. What I would call a perfect shift.

I called edge and asked them for help. They promptly took all my information and seemed to be really on the ball and determined to help me out. Until they found out I haven't updated in 4 months. They told me to update and call back and almost literally hung up on me at that point. After a call back a short pointless conversation I got the "update/ hung up" once again.

So I updated the tuner.

Still misses the shift. I call back. Without hearing another word other than "I updated the tuner and it's still funky" they proceeded to blame my transmission. Said it's my truck that's the problem and not their tuner but I can send it to them pay 150.00 and they will "look at it, see if it is broken" yea not happening buddy.

For less than 150.00 I can go to gryphon and get some custom tunes but I'm so afraid I'm still going to have these random problems that I wouldn't hesitate to call serious.

When the tuner is off the truck runs like a champ. Just lacks that punch that's only useful when I want to be a dumb teenager.

Not exactly sure what to do now... What is all your .01?

With this type of constant mis-shifts, go back to factory. See if the problems work thrmselves out in a 1000 miles. If so it is the Edge, if not, "We have problems Houston." Do not keep driving it as it is. Very distructive outcome for your pocket book to handle.

A tuner gives crisper shifts, rev limit adjustment, and selective octane timing. It's debatable about how selective they are. Not going there! Their features now days are outstanding with wireless and all, to display on your Ipad. Some come with their own wireless screen and all. Super chips is one of them.

I spend 99% of the time in factory. I'm positive it's the tuner making the bad things happen. Can't figure out why tho.
