Running boards...

I was just curious if anyone else hates the stock running boards as much as I do. If anyone has replaced theirs with tubular style steps on a 2011, I would like to see what you used.

I am curious about this also. I have the square chrome running boards that came stock on my 2011 F250. Not sure if I like them or not. My vertically challenged wife loves them though!

I didn't do tubular steps, bought a set of Amp steps. I love the fact that they're out of the way when the doors are closed, makes the truck look a little higher. My 2 and 5 year old kids can climb up them into the truck without a problem.

I also have the Amp power steps on my 2012 350. The truck looks cleaner with the doors closed and the height they drop down to is lower than the tube steps.

These steps were originally a late update on my 2005 so I've had them in operation for at least a couple of years now with no problems at all.

I ordered the Smittybilt 3" Sure step nerf bars today. Black, higher, and tighter. I'll post a picture when they are installed for those interested.

Nope...I actually like mine. I have the 5" chrome tubular type...and think they are high quality.

I do understand to replace the OEM...so it all depends on the individual. Especially...if the owner is looking for a different look.

Noticed your last post on the 3" tubes you just purchased. Def interested to see how they look after the install.

Mine are the actual boards, not the tubular type. They trap water, have plastic tread that makes it nearly impossible to clean the chrome part, and the chrome part is getting rust spots already. Poor design in my opinion...
