After many years of dreaming about owning a real truck an opportunity came my way to get one. It's funny because I have been a class A driver for 19 years.
I snapped up a 76 F150 4x4. My Orange & primer Crush with all the bells and whistles. Looks like crap but the interior is clean and I had T and J performance in Orange go through the mechanicals and she is in great shape.
Yea I paid a little more then she is worth but how much would you pay for your dream to come true?
I have wanted a 70's Ford 4x4 since I was a young pup a long time ago, when this truck was new.
Thank you all for letting me share my joy with you. I look forward to meeting you all and hitting the trails with those willing to wait for me to SLOWLY catch up with you.
Welcome Ken, nothing like owning your dream! I also like to putt putt on the trails, if ya go too fast you miss out on the scenery.

It seems awkward, but whenever you "insert a picture" to one of these threads, the forum is looking for the picture somewhere on the web (which is always available) rather than from somewhere on your hard drive (which isn't always available).

Go to Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket and sign up for a free account. Then create an album for your truck. Upload any pics you want to post on FTE to that album. Have this album open on your computer when you want to post pics on FTE.
While you're making a post on FTE, select the pic you want to post from your Photobucket album. When the large version of the pic is open, right mouse click on it and select "View Image Info". The image info will be highlighted and will look something like this: http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/l...ghtsafter1.jpg
Copy that highlighted info (right click / copy).
When you have the spot in your post where you want the pic to be placed, select the "Insert Image" icon at the top of the post (looks like a mountain) and paste (right click / paste) the image info you copied in the highlighted box (just shows "http://" when it opens).

I will take a few pics next weekend and post them. I am somewhat embarrassed by the looks of my truck (Lots of crappy bondo and primer with weathered orange paint).
I have a few minor mechanical issues that need to be addressed before I can go off roading, plus I am a wimp and don't like the hot weather. I am on planing on my first off road excursion in November.
I would like to get the body in decent shape and paint my truck in the original factory orange color, if it is at a reasonable price. I do expect to roll my truck sooner or later. Regardless of the damage I will cause to my sweetheart, can you all recommend a shop that can do the work?
Thank you everyone for the positive feedback. I live in the City of Orange. The SoCal chapter of FTE is definitely the best.
Welcome to FTE, and the SoCal chapter. Glad to hear you got your dream truck! Can't wait to see pics of it. You have come to the perfect place for info on your truck. And the SoCal gang is just like family. I am sure you will enjoy your stay.
