Exclamation 1997 F-150 misfire now won't star 4.6L V-8

Hi, I have a 1997 F-150 2WD 4.6L V-8 that began having random misfires as I would drive. I was planning on going out today to get the new plugs and coils however when I got off work and pulled into my drive something happened when I went to leave the truck wouldn't even crank it just made a clicking noise. The battery has full power (the radio ect. still works). I am hoping that the problem is with the coils and plugs but if not any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Kevin

Remove and clean the battery cables first.
Check for corrosion and tightness at the other ends.
After this if there is stil an issue suspect the start relay having burnt contacts.
Get this cleared then look into the poor drivabilty.
The fact that your radio works and some other functions tells me the low current draws don't drop enough voltage accross a poor connection but try with large starting current and you see the failure.
Good luck

Thank you i checked the connectors they were a bit corroded so i cleaned them and put some dielectric grease on them as well as on the spark plugs and thee corresponding wire ends at the boot and coil. So far it doesn't seem to work so I'll try and jump it to see if that will give it enough juice to run.

I tried to boost it with no success is there a chance that when I parked it, it ended on the piston that is misfiring? Would that prevent it to turn over?

Yeah it's just making one click when I turn the key. I heard that sometimes the brushes in the starter cylinder can be tapped free. It's kind of an old school thing so I'm not sure if it'll work but I'll try
