banks otto mind

Hi all,
Hope everyone had a safe and happy 4th.

I have a question.

On my pcm there is a
Banks Ottomind
Engine Calibration Module
Powerpack 62804

What is it, i went to banks and couldn't find it'

The reason for asking is I've had some pcm codes
and could this be part of the problem

Thanks
Shannon

They still have the Ottomind listed, it appears though that they have dropped most all their older engine listings. Almost every truck that I have scanned that had a chip or programmer installed would show a code or two but they where not detrimental to how it ran.

Is the chip taped in to the pcm or is it loose at all?

If you mess with it, make sure your keys are NOT in the ignition. If you are having problems, like a pcm code, take it out and see how it works.

Hope everyone had a great weekend.
Sorry I'm so slow about getting back.

Thanks for the warning about the keys in the ignition, i wasn't sure
so in undid the neg. battery cables also.

I've had my truck to 2 repair shops Ford and Earth Movers, and they both said either flash the pcm or get a new one.
It never has the same codes twice, except P0605

I'm gonna call DP Tuner in the morning.
I will try it without the chip, before i call.

Don't have the fender well popped back in yet so will be easy to put in and take back out.

OH, the truck is
1995 F350, 7.3, auto, 4x4, 4 door, lifted, Flat bed, 226,00 miles

SURE COULDN'T HAVE GOT THIS FAR WITHOUT YOU!
Even tho she's not running right now. She might in the morning, one just never knows

Thanks again to all,
Shannon
