Talking Just Finished the Great Race

Wow what an experience. We did the race in a 57 Chevy. My Fords has modifications that disqualify it. Irregardless of the brand, it was an absolute blast. 2300 miles around the Great Lakes in 9 days. We were car 50. We took 4th in the Rookie Division and 43rd overall. You can read all about it here. The Great Race Lots of great pics, we ended at The Henry Ford in Dearborn, MI. An amazing museum, worth a trip for sure!

For Rookies I think it went very smoothly. Of course we made some mistakes, got off course a few times and learned a great deal. The car worked great. The only time we put a wrench on it in 2300 miles was to adjust the fan belt.

t is a very lonely feeling when you realize you made a wrong turn. The car are spaced 1 minute apart. One time we made a wrong turn and by the time we realized it and went back we were 17 cars behind. We were able to pass 15, but then got caught by the check point. We were laughing the whole way.
