Where oh where can I find replacement manifold downpipe studs?

I didn't order these from rockauto because I figured the "manifold bolt and stud kit" would actually contain all the manifold bolts and studs I needed. Apparently they only contain the manifold to the head bolts and studs, and not the manifold to downtube studs.

Couple google searches, and viola, stock part sans nice hex head bit at your local oreilly. Head to the local oreilly and not only do they not have them, none of the stores in my county nor two adjacent counties have them. I can, however, order this $3 for $9 shipping, and get a plain old stud that I'll have to mess with using a stud driver without the hex bit. If I'm going to blow $12 for a stupid stud then the stupid thing is going to have a stupid hex head on it.

Search rockauto. Nothing. Just flat out google the stupid things. Nothing.

What is the official name of those two stupid studs that attach the exhaust header to the downtube, and where can I order these things? If I'm going to pay such a ridiculous amount for these stupid things can I get replacements that actually have the hex head on them?

I'm more pissed that I have a relatively free weekend yet I have to sit and stare at my truck in the driveway because I can't find two stupid $3 studs.

...and I forgot to get never-cease and a stupid EGR gasket after the downtube stud nonsense! double

Welcome to the world of the Do-It-Yourselfers! It always takes 3 trips to the store to get everything you need.

FWIW...I have been waiting 2+ weeks for some silly $1.49 plastic pins to re-attach a trim panel on my 2004 Excursion. Somehow the retailer lost my order.....

These studs are 7/16"-14, not 7/16"-20 which is what the truck has. No love on that site for 7/16"-20. They also don't list the 351W as a motor option for an 89 F350-Super Cab. If I go F350 regular it still doesn't show anything for these bolts, and the kit they sell is pictured with the wrong number of bolts.

Their application shows 1988-1997, sorry if I missed the mark
Dorman's site is down right now...

I find it very hard to believe it's a fine thread into cast iron, maybe on the 'out' side, but what does that matter if the kit comes with brass nuts?

FWIW,
Dorman has plenty of NF studs in all lengths (and fine on one end, coarse on the other)
Look in the orange drawers that you can find in most any old school auto supply.
In most chain stores the nitwit behind the computer wouldn't even know where to start looking.

Mine is 7/16-20 on both ends. I'm out in bum fark nowhere so it's not a surprise the oreilly that is 1 hour away doesn't have a bunch of spare stuff in bins. There's a napa and a carquest in the same town, I'm going to stop in there tomorrow and try my luck. It was 7pm by the time I was able to get into town last time so all the other stores had already closed.

Hmm, maybe I need to double check that pitch. The clown at the auto parts store may certainly be incorrect.

YES! YES! YES! Thank you ArdWrknTrk for the Dorman part number, those were a perfect fit! Was able to order them from CarQuest and got them in town in 24 hours! I've got my weekend unfortunately booked up, but we are one step closer to getting this exhaust manifold nonsense wrapped up!

Thanks again ArdWrknTrk!

Glad this is going to work for you!

Sorry the guy @ O'Rilley had you chasing your tail looking for fine pitch studs.

You'll find time soon and get it all back together without any leaks!
