I hate vacuum lines
So i have been getting EGR codes, valve opening not detected or some such. Well before I go out spend cash on parts I decided to test the EGR valve, EGR valve position sensor. and EGR valve solenoid.
Pulled the EGR valve off and used a hand vacuum pump to test, it works fine.
The EGR valve position sensor appears to be good, resistance values change as valve opens.
Tested the vacuum line from Valve to solenoid, it holds.
Tested vacuum line from solenoid to cannister on passenger side fenderell, it holds.
Getting frustrated now.
So tested vacuum line from manifold to cannister, won't even pull 5 inches of vacuum. Replaced the line
It is now too dark out and I was getting too mosquito bitten to go any further.

I used this as a guide:
Rubber Vacuum System Replacement (5.0\5.8 EFI) - Ford Truck Club Forum
Took me like 15 minutes to replace crappy plastic vacuum lines with rubber.
End result: No more vacuum leaks.
