Hey all,
just picked up a 94 f250 5.8 liter. Having a few issues with it.. hoping to get some help. First off, it takes about 2 minutes to start it up , with turning the key over and over and over, finally after a while it lights up. Not sure what the issue is there. Once it starts up, it idols perfectly almost. The second issue is when i punch the gas , it kills.. any help is appreciated.

Sounds like fuel pressure, check it and get back to us, also, any stored codes?

 

weak fuel pump? Does it do the same thing on each tank?

 

Yea it does the same thing on both fuel tanks when i switch it over

 

Having the same issues. Not at start up, at least it doesn't take 2 minutes, but it takes about 20 seconds of crank and then I turn it off, then turn it on and it usually sputters up. Then when I'm driving, sputters sometimes at start up from a light, stop sign or whatever, or if I'm at a slower speed cruising it will sputter too if I try to speed up.

So I'm interested in fixes. Fuel pump, filter, what? Yes same as op, does it on both tanks. Fuel Filter maybe?
