Alternator rating

Anybody know what the max amp rating is on the alternator (non-plow package). And would it be worth upgrading to the higher amp alternator. I haul a truck camper with 2 group 31 batteries and run the fridge on 12 volts when going down the road. Just want to make sure that I am not over taxing the alternator.

According to my electronic 2012 SuperDuty brochure...

Electrical System Info:
Battery: 12-volt; 650-cca/72-amp-hr
Alternator: 157-amp, 2100 Watt

Does not mention that the 6.2L having an optional alternator. Hope this helps...

Thanks. Sounds like it comes with a pretty healthy alternator. The optional one is the heavy duty alt. It comes with the snow plow prep package along with heavy duty front springs.

The so-called, "heavy duty" alternator with the snow plow package...does not seem to have any ratings. At least nothing on my documentation...

They usually seem to be referencing the 6.7L PSD ... with the "heavy duty" alternator option.

FORD does not spell it out well...that is for sure.
