siren install and double dinn install (cb/radio)

Well I changed the title of my old thread vs starting a new one. Short version: PO installed a terrible stereo (single din). I pulled it last weekend....no stereo is better than the one that was in there. I have since decided to install a CB and single din stereo. Both stereo and CB have been ordered. I am also going to install a siren box (galls street commander) into my ex. This way I have an air horn for deer/hog/slow kids and a switch bank for extra stuff. I am thinking about installing some cheapo LED emergency lights...my SO is so small (4 of us including the sheriff) that we usually end up on calls or backing someone up in our personal vehicle (ie if we happen to be driving by). I already cleared it w/my insurance company so once I find the right LEDs, Im ready to rock. pics will come soon as progress is made

Well I just ordered my stereo ($40 of amazon) and my CB that will be going into the exped.

I also decided to wire up a siren box into my ex...it was an extra unit that we had laying around at the SO. I am going to use the switches for an inverter, flashlight charger, and eventually driving lights and ? (4 switches).

I ran A LOT of the wires today for everything (including CB/stereo). All I have left is to run the siren wire (so I can use the air horn for deer out here). I installed two fuse blocks inside the console...and once my inverter gets here it is also going in the console. If napa is open tomorrow, I am going to install a killswitch as well.

I am taking lots o pics. Ill post up the pictures as soon as my little air card finishes uploading to webshots

I am a volunteer firefighter and I put the Galls traffic backer in the tails, and 3 in 1 smart flasher in the headlights. These definitely get people to move out the way. If you do look at the traffic backer, dont worry about the NOT FOR FORD note. I called, and was told it is because SOME fords with this installed made it so the trans could be shifted out of P, without stepping on the brakes. It DOES NOT affect our trucks.

got her wired and everything is online.
switch 1 is to the stereo I just installed...now I can click on the radio w/everything else in the truck turned off which is nice.

switch 2 to the flashlight charger (see thread http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/11...d-install.html)

3/4 are unused at this point.

It's not bad for me... I'm 6ft 5in so I have my seat all the way down to the floor and slid all the way back so my knees are pretty far out of the way.

I kinda wish it was a little closer to my knee so I would have a leg rest while driving long distances but as it sits now, its so far to the right that I can't even rest my leg against it w/out creating an awkward/uncomfortable driving position.

Got the CB installed today (stereo and CB in dash).

I used the double din install kit from the big company I forget their name...metra? (something like that). The trim pieces that came in the pack are useless and wont even fit around my stereo so for now I left them off.
I will post pictures tomorrow when its light enough to snap a few pictures.
