what if qt if you run out of fuel

hi to all
i have an 02 excursion diesel 7.3. my question is
what do i need to do to bleed the fuel system to have it start when i run out of fuel and refill the tank

this has not happend just a question that i wanted to know

Put some more fuel in and turn the key on, open your drain valve on the water separator until fuel starts draining out. Fire it up and it will run rough for a few miles and then you're good to go.

Another method, if you have the tools (pliers and a screwdriver), is to pop off the fuel filter lid and fill the fuel bowl after putting more fuel in the tank, then start 'er up.

It'll run like crap for awhile until you get all the air out of the lines.
