Sold the 2010 F 150
My 2010 had 27k on it and was a pretty good truck until.......my dealer put a shim kit on it to correct pinion angle, and I started having worse vibration issues when slowing down, particularly at 20 mph. Don't have the time at present to fool with this (again) so I swapped cars.
SInce I want to get into the next generation F150 around 2014 or 15, I decided to drive a 4WD 4Runner until then. I got $24,500 for the XLT, which is damn decent for something that cost me 28K after discounts. Toyota's resale is stupid high well beyond reason, so in 2 to 3 years I won't lose my butt when I go back to a Ford truck.
I'm hoping they shrink them just slightly a la Aussie Ranger size, which I really want. I'll hang around -- it's fun here--great forum. Hope you guys don't flame me too badly for this :~) as I've been a Ford guy for a long time.

Sorry to hear that. Did you have the 5.5 or 6.5' bed? I have 23+k miles on mine (5.5' bed) and no issues, but I have airbags and 3" rear blocks also. The Rangers are sexy, I saw a commercial for one on a cruise a few weeks ago. Had the new Explorer front end (and 4 doors), why don't they offer that here? Or maybe they do and I'm just not paying attention. Anyway good luck, no flaming from me

Thanks for the no flame! I had the 5.5' bed and the 2 piece driveshaft. It was pretty smooth except when I loaded the truck with 700-800 lbs and took off fast. Then you could feel the "vib". Shim kit fixed that but introduced a vibration when decelerating. Go figure. Trans and engine (4.63V) were great.
I wish they would bring that truck here, but not likely to happen as it would cut into Ford's cash cow sales. I know I would buy it.

You haven't missed anything. I've read on multiple sites that Ford doesn't plan on offering the new Ranger here because it's too close in size to the the F150 and they don't want to cut into the F150 sales/profits.

I would not understand why you would get flamed...there are a lot of good people on here that understand your reasons for selling your truck. Sorry to hear about your problems, that Toyota will get you there without issue. I currently have a 2001 Sequoia Limited and it keeps burning up the miles (134,000) without issue or leaking a drop of oil.
I don't have my truck yet but really enjoy being here on the forum and talking with all of you. I can't wait to get my truck!

In the past I've really wrestled with having a mid-size SUV with utility trailer vs. having a truck. The mid-size SUV is so much nicer for every day driving & parking, especially in winter. So one day I ran a little experiment and took my car trailer to the hardware store to pick up some lumber. What a pain in the rear that was! It took an hour to do something that would take 10 minutes in a truck. And the braking capability of my Jeep Cherokee was actually unsafe with a 2K pound trailer behind me. That's it, truck won. No more wrestling with options.

Thanks guys.........we'll see about Toyota quality as I know that they've slipped. But until I get another Ford truck, it'll do fine. I read that Ford plans a weight reduction program with the F150, rumored around 2014. They'll supposedly start with a 400 pound cut, which would be fine for most 1/2 ton drivers. Imagine the acceleration with an EB then!

2012 Ranger cancelled December 2011. Twin Cities MN assembly plant where it was assembled has been shuttered.
Ranger introduced March 1982 as a 1983 model, Super Cab introduced 1986. While it sold well for many years, FoMoCo ignored it for many years, making only minor changes.
When sales dropped off to next to nothing, FoMoCo cancelled it.
