hello, i found the style of bumper that i want on my f100 but its on a early 80's bronco....will the bumper brackets fit on my 76 f100?

its the style of bumper that usually comes in 78-79 broncos but the one i found is on a early 80's bronco....i curreently have the big step on bumper....

If you mean a contour bumper, yes it will fit. BUT, the brackets will need to be modified by extending them as shown in the pics below.



Modified on the left, stock on the right:


The outer wing brackets need to be modified in a similar fashion:

 

Thanks HIO Silver for your help and reply, yeah that's the kind of bumper I was talking about. I posted the message before I left to the junk yard this morn. but just saw your reply till now. those custom extensions look nice. for now, one of the holes matched on each side so I installed it like that. just tightened them real hard for now.

 

I tried that too but a few bumpy rides will have the bumper go low slung in no time flat. Hence, the required modification.
