Hey guys, been out of town for a few days with the family in Gatlingburg. Been very hot here too until today when the rain came and the temp dropped 25 degrees, just in time for us to head home tomorrow. David, Spent about an hour today talking to Floyd Garrett. He is doing well and business is booming as well.

Hey Stacy, its about the same for us. Almost 30 days, but we had a good steady soak this afternoon & supposedly will have more through the weekend.

Gator, you got a few years behind me so itz yo' own fault...

Thomas, is he NOT going to close after all??? That would be great, but I swear I've got an article form Mustangs & Fords saying he was.

Evening my Mississippi buddies. I went there when I was in Gatlinburg. I love that place. I have to tell yall, I seen a early 70ish ford F-150 today. It is the finest truck I seen in awhile. I got his phone number and ask could I come by and take pic. I also told him about our site. He said he would like to be a member of something. LOL. I cant even start to tell yall everything he has done the truck.

Hi everyone.
I put in a full day yesterday keeping the roads open.
Started by picking up a car splattered with blood throughout the interior.
I had a totally burned out van that I removed from the side of the road.
(I hate burned vehicles as the smell lingers for days.)
Add in a few breakdowns and a Freestar with a transmission that quit and I managed to do 9 tows yesterday.
The Freestar is under a recall so at least the disabled vet will get the tow and repair for free.

One other thing came up.
My '07 Taurus had a vibration in the right front due to a abnormally worn tire.
As it would not align I took it into the shop where I work and got under it.
I found that it had been damaged in a wreck prior to my having purchased it.
The damage had been masked and neither the Carfax nor the dealer disclosed the history.
The engine cradle is warped.
As the cradle holds the lower control arm the geometry is off.
The odd thing is that the car tracked fine.
I've located another cradle for $100 and will be swapping them out when I get a chance.

Bryan, I flirted briefly with vehicle recovery in my early teens working at a station and while there were many aspects I liked, I quickly figured I wouldn't be able to handle the gore factor over the long haul. I salute your fortitude & you have my respect for doing what you do.

In re your Taurus, its bad that you got stuck, but great that you have the resources to deal with the repair correctly & cost effectively... Gives me pause since Terri & I are actively shopping for a replacement Escape in the used 2010, 11 or 12 variety.

Hey everyone. On vacation this week and getting some things done around the house, my wife tells me thats what vacation is for. David, I asked Floyd about that and he said he is going to be in business as long as people still come by. He has rotated new cars though for the most part. Had a 70 Boss 429 with 23,000 original miles. Looked like a time capsule, most of his collection does.

Finally got a job interview back home next Thursday that I've gotta be there for. I'm seriously hoping that everything goes well and I'll be able to make it in time to take the interview.

Everything else has been smooth sailing so far up here, got the last of the goodies to install the new stereo in the Town Car, and I'll probably be working on that tomorrow. All that is left after that is packing up the car and heading home. I'm glad to have lived in MA for a while, but MS will always be home.

^^^ A job so nice, he did it twice...

I put together a gas grill we ordered through Ace hardware. Not a bad item. Made in Canada, cast aluminum w/SS burners, single side burner for a pot or pan. Limited lifetime warranty. I think it'll do the job for a few years.
