I've had a good weekend thus far. Tried working on my F100 today and it isn't firing for some reason, replaced the points and condensor but it still refuses to fire. Tomorrow I'm on to swapping coils and seeing if that does the trick, I certainly hope so because it'd be nice to hear that old big block make some noise again!
Still gotta find a transmission for it, but one step at a time. Enjoy the remainder of your weekend y'all!

We're having a good trip. Went off with tablets only and left the laptop (again) making web based communications feel like scratching on wood with fingernail. Great visit with family, accommodations, food and a show last night at Texas Music City. Will holler at ya'll more probably' Monday night.

Got some more wrench time in on the F100 today. Figured out that the PO hacked the wiring harness going to the coil and it was shorting on the intake manifold. Got that sorted and it went back to firing...runs great so long as I keep force-feeding it fuel from a bottle. I'm not getting any fuel from the tank to the carb.
I've got fuel before the pump, and no fuel after it so suspect the mechanical fuel pump has given up the ghost from sitting for awhile with ethanol based fuel in there. Oh well, I'm happy it runs again.
Hopefully this week or weekend I'll have it up on stands dropping the transmission pan to take a look at the "damage". Given the nature of the c6 being a tough trans there is a small (microscopic) chance that it might be unharmed other than needing seals and a fluid change. If there isn't a bunch of band material or sludge in the pan it's going back in with new seals & fluid to see if it'll still work. I figure at the least I'm out $30 in fluids and seals, but it is worth a shot.
Y'all take it easy, I gotta go get cleaned up before the woman murders me for coming inside dirty.

Well I got up and due to my depression I didn't want to do anything today.
Eventually I drug myself outside and got the walk behind mower out.
I've been having trouble with it and was determined to get it running.
The first problem I found was that the air filter had been ruined as a result of the carb float sticking open and the gas had flowed out of the tank soaking the filter.
So I dropped the bowl and cleaned the crud out.
I went to the nearest Wally World to get a filter and a new spark plug.
They had a plug but no filter.
So off I went to the other W W 10 miles away for the filter.
I returned and installed the parts.
I filled up with new ETH free gas and fired up the mower.
I made it around about half of the perimeter and let the mower stop while I pulled a water hose out of the way.
When I pulled the starter rope handle the rope broke.
So now the mower is sitting at the door of the shed and I'm wishing I still drank.

Just another little thing that I had to put up with last night.
At about 1:45am the work phone rang.
Usually that is a law call for a tow truck.
There was someone with a 347 area code on the line.
OK that is probably one of the military members serving down here on the coast.
The guy on the line asks if I can come and deal with the flat tire he has on his car.
Now I won't go out and do a tire change for people except for very special circumstances.
I will however go and tow them to where they can get the service they need.
Now he starts telling me that he is on the I-287/440.
Now I'm thinking what the hell is he talking about?
If you know how the interstates are numbered that is way the hell and gone from where I am.
In fact he was in North New Jersey.
It seems that he used the Siri app on his iPhone and had asked it to find him a local towing company.
Now I really could use a service call that would pay for a distance like that (1200+ miles) but the response time was a bit much.
