Today was driver orientation day with USPS.

Thursday morning, I'll go train on one specific vehicle.

Friday, I'll go "shadow" riding with an existing carrier.

Saturday remains to be seen...

Monday, I'll go train on another specific vehicle.

Tues, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of next week, I'll be in Independence, MO attending USPS "carrier academy" classes.

Nothing like guberment work...
When I started at the prison, they sent me to training in Jeff City for 4 straight weeks.

Tomorrow morning I'm swapping out the radiator in the Durango - not looking forward to it in this heat, but it has to be done.

Well fellers....... Terry!
Here's what I've been working towards the last couple of days. Chip's bean recipe, and been working on my own dry rub for beef... So Chip's beans, and a 14 pound Beef Brisket have been in the smoker since early this morning!
We've had Ka'Bluey out for a couple of joy rides. Mostly I've been running from fire to fire taking pictures. I really enjoy this chasing Firetrucks!!!
Hope everybody's doen well...

Unk Bob

I took some rear springs off a 14 bolt this afternoon. By hand...... I used a 1/2" breaker bar and about a 15' long piece of pipe to get the ubolt nuts loose. Once they broke loose, I switched over to a 1/2" ratchet, but still had to use the pipe to turn the wrench. I think these springs will work on the rear of the jeep, but I think I'm going to take about half the leaves out of the pack. I think they weigh about 90lbs a piece.

I used the same set up when I put the new leaf springs/lift on the back of ol red and it had factory overloads, so real long u-bolts. I now have a Ingersoll Rand 1/2" 600 Ft-Lb Air Tool Impact Wrench.

Even if I had my impact, I had no air where I was working. And my pipe was a lot longer!

Morning all, and happy 4th!

I'm sitting at work all day. Just ate a grilled steak and mashed potatoes for breakfast, figured it was appropriate being the 4th and all...

Good morning boys and girls.

Grilled steak and mashed potatoes for breakfast? AT work?

Good Morning Everybody!

Happy Independence day!

Rubenk, Wow, and it's 4wd too. Not bad. I wish someone would buy the step side. I could use the money right now.

Rich, hang in there buddy. It won't be long until you're on an aircraft with fixed wings headed west.

Bob, those beans and brisket look tasty.

Tiff had to work overnight last night. She got home at 0800 this morning. I'm the only one up right now. I thought I should take the day off, but have this feeling like I'm slacking somehow. Maybe I'll just take some measurements for the throttle linkage before we head off to the festivities.

I almost forgot. I had the weirdest dream last night. I was at a guy's house doing some custom welding on his truck, when a cop shows up with another guy. They walk over to my truck and start looking it over. The guy says he thought my truck was his new truck that got stolen so many years ago because it looks just like it, same options and all. I told him, "I hate to disappoint you buddy, but I built this truck from several trucks and it came off the line as a 2wd." They ran the vin and went on their way, but I woke up kinda ticked off. After 30 years you're gonna assume nobody modified a pick up truck?

It was all a dream of course, but very vivid.

Earthquake that sounds like a rather odd dream! I've had some like that before, that just kinda leave you irritated most of the day.

I'd sure love to snag tht F250 as a project, it is exactly the truck I want. I could sign another lease in my apartment and have the money to pick it up...but the whole point of me moving into a house is so I have a garage to work on a project!! hah...

btw, just "Ruben" is fine, thats my first name.

Nice find, Ruben.

That line about "will have a clear title on 7/06" always scares me a bit, but if he still has the truck and DOES get a clean title, it looks like a good buy!

Of course, being a Kansas truck, it may not pass a Missouri inspection...

Now who do we know that lives in Kansas?

Perhaps it may be necessary to purchase the truck but leave it at a Kansas address for registration purposes???
