New to the forums, i usually lurk around on fsb. Posted some pics in the picture thread but figured id start a new one to tell you guys a little about her. Im usually a 73-79 guy but after i sold my 4th one i was having a hard time finding one with a decent body. Farmers around here ****** up those old trucks FAST!

The po was the one that did the body swap on the truck, its an f250 frame with the body from an 81 f150. I took off the body lift and the 35s, but other then that the only work ive done to her has been mechanical. When i got it the output shaft on the c6 had the splines rounded off, which also took out the input on the transfer case. Now its a bone stock 302, zf5, np205.

That's a really nice lookin' truck there! Always liked the tu-tone browns, just something about them.

I think I hear it calling out for a 460.

Yes, nice looking truck! But, don't let them talk you into a big block or you'll have to start over on the ZF5. Maybe a warmed-up 351W?

By the way, the burled-wood interior trim isn't from '81. That would have been Rosewood. IIRC the burled came in 84 or 85.

Nice looking truck.
Don't listen to 81ChopTop. He's a fiend. Actually, he's a good guy with some awesome fab skills.

A nice pumped up 351W will put out more than enough torque (and hp) to shred the tires, and you won't have to find a new transmission to run it through. A 302 can be a little light on the low end torque. If that is a problem, a new cam and heads can help, but as they say, "There's no replacement for displacement."

Very nice truck, The exposed and painted tranny floor plate is kind of neat and different. Out of curiosity where is the transfer case shifter?

Thanks for all the compliments guys. The original interior was trashed so the entire dash, vinyl flooring, map pockets and bench seat are from other trucks. Im going to have to keep something with a small block ford bellhousing since i just had this transmission rebuilt, i just dont know what yet. As for the transfer case shifter, i still havent fabbed up something that will clear the transmission. Im thinking of going with a home fab cable setup.

Hey now, I resemble that remark.

Since you had the trans rebuilt, yeah, stick with a small-block. A nicely built 351w in the future would compliment what you have very nicely.

Looking at the pics again, I like the different shades for the door panel pockets and dash pad. Breaks things up a little, but not too much.
Once again, good job!!
