come to a stop clunk, take off clunk

I have a 2009 f 150 two wheel drive and after reading and doing a little research I found my problem.
Slip yoke same as alot of guys here, come to a stop clunk, take off clunk.
My question is my warranty ran out,I had a 30,000 or three year and now I have 31,000 plus it's like the truck new when the warranty ran out.
There is a TSB on it,10-22-6 NOV 10 Drivetrain - Driveshaft Slip/Bump On Accel. Or Braking
Will they do any thing for me,and how much would it cost me to have the work done at a shop.
THANKS

Seriously, you can do this lube procedure yourself. Search some of the threads on this forum and you'll find some good instructions on this process.

For most folks, the slip yoke lube procedure solves the issue for 90+% of the cases.

The bumper to bumper portion of the warranty may be expired but the 2009's have a 60 month / 60K mile drive train warranty. This is part of the drive train.

^^^ Right! What Tim said. But you can do it yourself, I did it on my F250. I was actually thinking of drilling/tapping a grease zerk into the DS where the splines are, but I'm lazy and I didn't know if that little bit would cause a balance issue. Mostly b/c I'm lazy

You still have a power train warranty. Depending on what you signed up for, it could go all the way up to 100k. after 60k on my 2009 and would have had to pay a small $100 deductable for any powertrain work.

I'll try that ford first,we have a garage at our city public works compound with a tranny shop I'm gonna ask around.
Changing my oil is as far as I take it,the rest is for someone who knows what there doing.
Thanks all for suggestions

I think you know what you're doing but you just haven't tried enough to learn it's true. Just jump in with both feet and you'll figure it out.

Besides, the worst that can happen is you take it to the dealer anyway.

Been there, done that, left on a rollback lmao! My old 6.0 that is, when I tried my hand at re-flowing the solder joints in the FICM. I would do it again too! I ain't skeered

LOL! Awesome!

I've also been towed from my driveway to the shop. It was just part of the process to convince myself that I did need to spend the extra money to have somebody else do it.

I look at cost of labor vs. effort & misery on my part, and then decide if I really want to pay somebody else to do that or keep the money in my pockets. As I've gotten older and have more money I have definitely changed my criteria and send it to the shop more often.

I figured it was on its way out anyway, so what harm could come of it? If it worked I was ahead of the game, fortunately the guy was able to winch it out of my garage onto the rollback w/o any trouble lol. I'm with you with the cost vs misery also. For example, I have tinted windows before but they never came out great. I paid $95 to get my front 2 on the F150 done with a lifetime warranty, money well spent IMO!

Ford's warranty is 36k/36 mo bumper to bumper, 60k/5 years drivetrain so depending on what part of the year you purchased your vehicle it may still be under warranty.
