52 coe built on a el camino chassis??

Ok, the fact that im even thinking about this let alone posting it here is a sure sign ive been out in the sun waaayy to long. 74 el camino 115" wb. i realize its too wide track.width for a regular cab truck but a COE having more width has me thinking the.. possibilty.
so if an elcamino would work maybe a ranchero would be even better ( I used to have a 74 ranchero and loved the drivetrain but not.the body so much. love the 351 cleveland! . guess its time for a cold shower and hopefully come to my senses.

I think that maybe a coe with an 8' box would be about right. the 52 f5 coe frame that i have is cut in half. going to need to start googling for images.

Run, do not walk to that cold shower. El Camino/Chevelle frames, and Rancheros would fall into the same category along with any other car-type frame, are very light perimeter frames that get their strength by being partnered with the body it's intended to be under. They're designed nothing at all like a truck frame. Their basic purpose in life is to be a suspension mounting platform that can be insulated from the body to give a less harsh ride for the occupants. As a rolling chassis, they can be bent and twisted into all kinds of shapes. If you think a truck frame is flexible, you ain't seen nuthin yet. They are not suitable whatsoever for use as a structure for a separate cab and box-type body setup.

Now that is just plain cool. That's like a virtual time warp.

I wish that I could have deleted a few of my comments, I suffer from too much sun too sometimes.
That LTD wagon is a good looking one! Love the description. Almost makes me want it...
