Beans tunes, likes, dislikes

Ok fellers, I sent Beans an e-mail the other day requesting more info on there tunes.( TS-6 pos. chip) Just wanted to get some experienced input from the ones that have them, especially if they are transmission friendly.
I don't plan on pulling or drag racin' just mainly hauling my camper and daily driving, occasionally towing.
Thanks, Bill

I read nothing but good, but cannot provide any real-world experience from my own vehicle.

I recently bought Beans tunes and engine wise, they're great. Unfortunately, the increase in power accentuates the tranny's tendency to slip in the 2-3 shift. When I emailed Beans asking for information on that problem, I received no reply. So, I asked on the forum and found it to be a pretty common problem with tuned engines and that a modified transmission valve body was the best, cheap cure. Bean has what seems to be a very good valve body, but, mostly because he didn't respond to my inquiry and also wants $250 core charge for a $250 valve body, I ordered a John Williams valve body for $225+50 core charge from RiffRaff. Besides the cheaper cost, he's responsive to customer input. I think Beans valve body is more adjustable to compensate for future changes in your system, but, lack of response put me off. I am very pleased with the engine performance, but, if I had it to do over again, I would have spent the extra money and gone with dp for the customer service. You pays your money and takes your chances. Bean seems to be very busy and maybe he really doesn't need a lot of extra business? He may just be going through a rough patch in his life and I'm way out of bounds with my critique.

Just e-mailed D-P as well, had there tuner in my previous truck. Somehow the thoughts of a black **** sticking out of my dash that looks as if it came from Radio Shack in 1970 does not appeal to me.

I have a silver **** on my TS chip. I love it, it's inconspicuous, plus I very rarely change out of my 100hp tune.
