Temp gauge not working

So, I've replaced the sender and tried grounding the sender wire with no response. The gauge always reads low "C." The sender wire is also in continuity with ground. It seems nearly impossible to trace this thing. What are my next steps?

I have a 1996 F250 460.

I had the same problem on my 92, grounded the wire and no response from the gage. Wound up being a blown fuse. i do not remeber which one, but I would suggest checking all of your fuses.

Thanks for that. I did check fuses and discovered a blown power-point fuse but that was all.

I'll try to trace the wiring down I guess.

Any way to test the gauge directly? If it's not working, I'm just going to go aftermarket.

I'm not entirely sure how to access the gauges easily either. I ordered a Chilton but it's coming by pony x-press I guess...
