Anyone know of some good JY in the Vegas/Henderson area?

I recently moved to the Las Vegas/Henderson area of Nevada and would like to find some junkyards that have parts for our trucks. I don't see to many of these trucks driving around here so I am not to hopeful on what the local yards will have. If anyone can point me in the right direction I would appreciate it.

Hi turnkyle,
Welcome to Vegas. There are two pick-a-part yards, run by the same company. One is in Henderson, off of Boulder Highway, and the other is in N. Las Vegas, on Lamb Blvd. It's a hit-or-miss thing for parts if you get there when a truck has been sitting for a while. Customers aren't very careful when removing a part, so expect a hack job when you walk up to a truck. Workers move vehicles around using a fork lift with long tines and subsequently damage some under carriage components. I haven't been to other yards yet, so I'm not sure if they are of the same type.

That's pretty typical of you-pull-it yards anywhere. People will wreck whatever is in the way of what they need. First because it's not theirs and they don't care, and also because they are in a hurry and probably didn't bring all the proper tools with them.

Vegas JY's

I agree with "Ed Bamba" our older trucks are getting tough to find in JY's. You could try at Lake Mead/Loose rd there is an all truck JY there. They will let you look around and pull some things, but mostly they do the removal. There is a web site ... Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market ... that will let you search a wide area and provide a lot of info on where the places are located. There is one JY near Pahrump it is North of town about 12 mi. off Hwy 160 on a dirt/rock road "Two Brothers Junk Yard" they don't change inventory much so it is kinda picked over ... but it's free to enter and prices are very reasonable. Bring tools ,,, WATER ... and food cuz there is nothing there but cars/trucks ....rocks... lizards ... and heat ... it's an adventure ... Dave
