IPR valve testing on a early '03 6.0
#16
yes, I just got done doing one on my truck. 03 6.0 110k. Exact problems as the OP. about 230 psi at the ICP during crank. I took mine off, the screen was intact. Removed the screen, pushed the needle in and cleaned it. Clean some crap off of the screen, new o-rings just because. Back in business. None of the parts stores with in a 100 mi radius had a new IPR, so i cleaned it and it running great. Just while you have it out ohm out the solenoid to make sure it is good.

another update
The replace IPR stuck open again, surprisingly as i was driving to my shop to install a new oil cooler and blue spring kit. When i removed the oil cooler i found the screen under it to have several rips in it. Also there was a lot of casting debris and sand in the bottom under the cooler. I cleaned all that out, the ipr, installed the new screen, oil cooler and blue spring kit and I am rolling again. I hope that the ripped screen was the cause for the IPR sticking problem.

All or nothin with my IPR. If you are having a longer warm crank time sounds like either a weak HPOP or a high pressure oil leak. What year is your truck? What is the location of the ICP sensor, either on the passenger side valve cover or under the turbo? That code is high pressure oil system not making enough pressure.

Hoping its not hpop, dont really have cash to fix right now. Had injectors done last year only have about 10,000 miles on them, hopefully they did everything under valve covers that it needed while they were there for high pressure oil leak. Car starts fine just no power when you start to drive, idles fine, revs up fine. Thanks for your reply.
