Fair price for a torque converter replacement?

I just got a quote from a local diesel mechanic to change out my TC and add Transgo Shift Kit.... $400 for a triple disc billet TC, $95 for a transgo shift kit, $620 for R&R of the tranny and shift kit install and $279 for tranny flush and new filter. All for a total of $1524 with tax included. Is this a good deal?

Is that with them pulling and installing the trans? Ive been calling around for a couple days, I need to have mine rebuilt. One guy quoted me 13-1500 for everything you said plus a rebuild. But Ive already pulled the trans and will be installing it myself.

$279 for flush & filter is a little elevated.

What's there to flush? the pan is already off and replacing the filter at that point is 1 minute of work.

Sounds really high to me, or am I missing something?

Nope that is the e-mailed quote that I got and that is what it says. Since I dont tow or have any serious horsepower should I just get a stock TC?
