Any blue parts out there?

Hey guys,

I have a 94 F250 with a blue interior. I haven't seen many of them out there in blue, so I thought I'd throw this out there. I need a dash pad.

This is a Centaurus conversion abomination, and one of the things they did was screw a stupid looking piece of wood to this pad, which bugged me so much I had to rip it off!

If anyone out there sees one in their travels or happens to have one that is in good shape, I would gladly pay you Tuesday for a dash pad today! Send me a P.M. or post a reply to this thread if you can help me out.

Thanks,

Mac.

If you can't find one in that color I wouldn't rule out finding a different color dash and painting it with a vinyl dye. You could even redo the whole interior and have it looking brand new. Odds are that your dash is faded more than you think - try to compare it to a part that isn't exposed to much light - like the fuse panel under the dash.

Anyway, good luck, they made so many of these trucks that parts aren't too hard to find.

Blue,

I haven't ruled that out, It was my first thought, but I don't know much about vinyl dyes or paints, and the blue is kinda growing on me!

Wow Hairy, that's kinda harsh! There are some things I like about it, and the pros far outweighed the cons, like a fresh motor rebuild, new 093 turbo, new tires... Besides I never claimt to be smurt!

I hear ya on the colors thing, you could probably find paisley if you weren't looking for it! Have you checked uhaultruckparts.com I think they have some gray ones, but they are pricey IIRC. Here's one.

Joe let me know, If its in good shape I'll shoot you some cash for it.

Thanks again. You know what I might need from that is the ash tray, mine is broken and falls out every time I open it, and I open it a lot because I don't smoke, so it's my piggy bank! if it is there and not mangled I'll buy it off you.

Sorry wasnt trying to be an ***, was being sarcastic really. But at the same time you dont see centurions all the time and i think theyre neat and wonder why someone would make them unoriginal... Seen a 4dr bronco get hacked down to two, people buy lariats, and rip out the AC and power options... to me (who can only find base models in good condition is seems) why buy something nice to make it not nice or less nice.. In the junk yard everywhere you look, immaculate XL trucks... and TRASHED XLT's / Lariats.

Hairy, I'm just messin man, no hard feelings. I am going to keep the Centaurus features. (BTW it's Centaurus not Centaurian like everyone says, at least mine is.)

I dig the limo lighting, it has an awesome power rear sliding window, which I still need to fix, a really cool headliner console where I think my gauges might go if I can work out the logistics. (really don't need the CB or radar detector anymore!) My problem is the finish on the wood, I don't like the color, and the lacquer is worn and yellowed. Fortunately, I am a finish carpenter. I am going to restore it. I just really didn't like that piece of wood on the dash. the center console is going to go. the craftsmanship is not very good, and the design is awful, a lot of wasted space. and I am going to build a new one with an integrated subwoofer box, 12v and 110v power from a converter under the hood, functional cup holders, and some other modern features, like maybe some well placed polished aluminum diamond plate accents.

So anyone out there I still need a blue dash pad in good shape, and an ashtray, PLEASE!

thanks,

Mac.

i vote for swapping to grey even though that would cost more than just finding the part you need.

Believe me I considered it. My 93 has a gray interior in really good shape. I considered just making it a donor truck, but the damn thing is just in way too good condition for that. I think I'm going to sell her as is and let someone else enjoy her.

I am getting use to the blue. It will look real nice cleaned up. One more bad, is they drilled a hole in the dash and mounted the trans temp gauge over the steering wheel. I guess that is going to need to be a dash cover!
