Transmission gasket leak

I have an 01 F250 crew cab 4x4 and my tranny gasket is leaking. It is the original gasket and the second tranny. I would like to go back with the oem gasket. Does anyone have the part #? Or is there another gasket better than the oem? I want to stay with a rubber gasket with metal built in it. Thanks.

You def. need to stay with the OE gasket. I tried an aftermarket ONCE and it never stopped seeping.

Also, make sure your pan isn't bent somewhere along the surface where the gasket sits. It should be nice and flat all the way around.

Listen to Peter.

Also, the pan can get dimpled at the mounting holes from over tightening the mounting bolts and atf will seep out. No more than 10 lb/ft of torque on those mounting bolts. Better yet, if you have a lb/inch torque wrench 120 lb/inches is good.

You can also use Mr Gasket in a can. Its like black RTV but formulated to resist oil, ATF, coolant. Stuff works great. I just did my C6 tranny on my 73 F350 and the pan was not straight. I put that stuff on and it sealed every dimple, bend, imperfection on the pan and dosent leak. And you can return to service as soon as you get done filling the tranny up. I bought it at advance auto. $15 for a 7 oz can.
