in all the parts cataloge it shows that the 80-96 truck parts are common to these trucks. can a 1991 f150 extented cab and bed be put on a 1983 f 250 frame
As long as you're swapping xtended to xtended,2wd to 2wd,or 4wd to 4wd they should be the same. You should crawl under and inspect and measure to be certain.

4x4 or 2x4 shouldn't matter as the difference between the two were the wiring (4x4 indicator light) and the transmission tunnel cover (cutout for a t-fer case shifter or not, as well as manual or automatic).
But yes, so long as it's being swapped regular cab to reg. cab, extended to extended, 4-door to 4-door then you should be fine swapping cabs.
EDIT: also, you mentioned a bed swap as well.
The bed has to be the same length as the original bed. A long bed won't fit on a short bed frame, as the wheelbases and frame lengths are different. Also, 80 to 86 and 87 to 96/97 wheel wells are different. 80 to 86 are squared off, whereas 87 to 96/97 are rounded. It'll be mismatched, but you can swap. Flare side beds fit on short-bed style side trucks.
The lower fender mounts are different too (if you plan on using the pre'87 fenders). Discovered that when I put the '90 cab on my '81. The spot welds can be drilled out and other mounts welded in.
