Rear Dif Help Needed

Hey gang, new territory opening up the rear dif - it's obviously worn but are we ok to reinstall?

There is a procedure for checking gear wear, alingment and side play - It is in the maintenance manual and on line
While your pictures are good the have enough glare that is hard to detect any pattern.

Have you ever driven the truck with that rear? Was it ever a problem before? I don't see anything out of the ordinary, but it's kinda hard to really see anything specific in the pics. If it ain't broke, I wouldn't bother trying to fix anything. It looks good and clean inside, I didn't see anything obviously broken. Diffs are about the toughest parts of these trucks, and would be the least of my worries. Unless I had a specific issue or problem, I'd fill it with fresh oil and drive it 'till she puked.

I'm with 52 Merc. Unless you seen any funny business in the oil that was drained out (excess metal, sludge, garbage) and the diff turns smooth without any hangups, should be good to go. In the pics from what I can see, looks fine to me.
