took the motor apart here are some pics, not sure exactly what happened.

i think this one shows the issue. odd burn on that one cylinder. wondering if i cracked the rings or something.

and here is all back together and running like a champ!

thanks and any comments or criticism welcome.

Good job. The motor looks real good. Is it a 7.3 or 6.9? Glad it working for you.

It a 88 7.3 out of a van, guy said it had 70k miles on it, but he wasnt sure on the mileage. it runs as good as my dads 6.9idi with 40k on it.

No his truck is on its 3rd motor. origial one died at around 300k than got a reman and cavitation took it out, was like that when we installed it and never knew, than finally got a good reman.

His truck will put many to shame. it started life as an 84 f250 4x4 and now its a 85 f350 cab and chassis 2wd with a custom flat bed and fresh factory colored paint.

here is a pic of his truck. 6.9, ATS 093 kit, hypermax intercooler, gear vendors, and the list goes on.... way too much to list has been done to it. btw this pic is a bit old he got a full set of Alcola wheels for xmas from mom lol

Wow nice clean fifth wheel hauler!

If that was a crew cab, that would be cherry for a full time hauler!

Ya my pops take a lot of pride in his truck, it lives in a garage when not towing the 32' fifth wheel.
