ford wants $200 for a fuel filler neck? i just need the inner hose

Had to pull the forward fuel tank to fix a leaky brake line. I got lazy and just cut the rubber hose going to the tank with a knife figuring I could just get a new one at the local parts store. Well it seems that there is a smaller hose inside of the larger hose. Went to ford and they said they don't just sell the hose (either hose) but only the whole "filler neck assembly" for $200-500. I almost fell out at the counter. Is there anywhere I can just get the rubber hoses?

Just do the tank filler mod.
It's easiest to do with the tank down.

It gets rid of that inside hose which just restricts flow.

They generally call it "harpooning"

You run a new breather line from the tank up to the top of the filler neck and gut the inside of the filler neck.

Yeah, but he cut the hose off too. Your best bet is going to get a used one at a junk yard. It will have to be from a diesel.

So, just get rid of the inner hose and find a used outer hose? It looks like the tank already has a little breather line that comes off the top. I doubt enough air can get through that little line as the tank is filling up. Do I just enlarge that hose?

One of the first mods I did to mine. When I first got it I couldn't believe how hard it was to fill up.

First post says "forward tank" so I assume that means midship tank. If the PSD Emporium doesn't have one, let me know. I may have one that is usable.

I had 4 of those sumbitches sitting around here. I may even have one or two sitting in the toolbox, I'll check around and see.

Yea, I guess it is called the midship tank. In all seriousness I'd rather just find someone with the two hoses instead of doing the mod. I guess I could do the mod, it's just not what I set out to do. Just wanted to drop the tank, fix the leaky brake line, then put the tank back with new tank straps.

The only decent "junkyard" around here is a Pick-n-pull. Really mad at them though cause it's a good 20 miles and when I called them to see if this95' F-250 on the webpage was a diesel or not the guy said "well come out here and see." Now that I think about it is the filler neck on the gassers the same?
