Have just about 500 miles on my new 2012 F250 6.2L. But I am hearing strange noises during startup. To me...it sounds like an exhaust leak??? I'm standing on the left (driver side)...and hit the remote start...and can hear it.
I thought I had read that these new engines are a touch noisy...so Just wondering if it is normal 6.2L sound? Or something I should ask dealer to inspect?

Biz, I am experiencing a similar issue with my truck. It's only got 1100 miles on it, but has been doing it since day one. Doesn't always do it. I hate the sound of the noise. Did you ever get this resolved?
I just can't figure out why the truck doesn't do it at every startup after it has sat for an hour or two. I'm convinced the noise is part or all of the valvetrain not getting lubrication for a second or two when it does it...yet it had not done it to me for a week until yesterday, mid-morning, I had to run an errand. It sat for about 1 hour...rattled / rapped as bad as I have heard it. Since then, probably 6 startups later, no noise.
