So these only work with OBS trucks or can you box the frame and run them on the earlier trucks? Is there any changes to the rear? I've got an 86 I'd like to convert.

Lastly, what springs would you use for an Aluminum headed 351w?

I would go with a set of U or D code springs

And yes, you can box your frame, that is what i plan on doing when I go to do the RSK in my 86 w SD springs

Brad, in a different thread you shared the very helpful observation that with B codes in the rear, that with U codes in the front the F350 stock rear block was correct, but that the V code requires a 5" rear block to keep the rear of the truck looking too low.

I thought your information would be helpful in this thread too.

Did you have to use angled shims under the blocks or did shimming down the drive shaft carrier bearing solve vibration issues?

I added 3/8" shim when I bought the truck to get rid of some shudder. With the F350 blocks installed I again have a vibration. I'll add two more 3/8" shims tonight to see if it corrects it.

I used V codes in the front of a diesel w B codes and 5" blocks(tapered) in rear

I used U codes in the front of a Big Block w B codes and stock 4" block in rear

There is about a 1" difference in the V code in a diesel and a U code in gas. AND the diesel truck is used primarily for hauling so I wanted it to have a slight rake to it. The gas truck is just lea sure so I wanted it to sit level

Brad, or anyone else who have installed an RSK, did you retain the factory front sway bar, and if so, did you need new end links?

Thanks Brad, I am finally about ready to do the RSK, and wanted to make sure I had all the details in order before I buy the stuff and pull the truck in the garage since I use it a lot in the summer, and can't deal with too much down time.

With a regular cab and 351, the T code springs are the way to go, correct?

Taken from Powerstroke.org

I acquired a set of T code front springs for my '95. I haven't had time at home long enough to swap them in yet, so I can't advise you on how they'll work out.

Quick question the SD springs bolt in with the RSK and you still use your OBS axles right. I've seen kits advertised that use the SD springs and SD axles unless I read it wrong.

PMF makes the kit both ways.

To retain the FACTORY OBS axle

OR to put in a SD front axle
