I traded in a 2011 f350 for 2 new 150's with ecoboost. For one the f350 while a great truck was not being used to tow what is should have. 18' enclosed trailers, with only 1-2 thousand pounds inside. #2 THE PRICE OF FUEL IS ABOUT .40-.50 PER GALLON MORE THAN GAS.
Still getting used to the sound of the v6 but overall they seem ok. drove 2700 miles last week the first week of ownership with no worries. Gas mileage seems to be around 20+ at speeds around mid 70's. Hooked up to one of my 18 v nose trailers and no sway or troubles on the highway.
One is an xlt chrome package 6' bed while the other is a 5.5' bed xlt lariat hard loaded. I am hoping these trucks will serve us well in towing and general work related stuff around the business. Time will tell but FORD has done a great job with these and all models they produce as of late.
Cool congrats...I was looking at getting the 6.7 awhile back after driving one. They have tons of power and are a real treat to drive...but as you said fuel costs, maintenance, HPFP issues, and DEF addition have made me reconsider my needs. I will be buying a F150 maybe at the end of this year and an ecoboost for sure.
I am doing the samething. Glad to see Im not alone. I just cannot justify the cost of the bigger truck anymore. I pick it up on Friday. Im excited and nervous at the sametime.
Tim
