05 EB check tire pressure light

Check tire pressure light stays on in my buddies 05 Eddie Bauer expedition but pressure is fine. I hooked my scanner up but it didn't read any codes ...is there a reset procedure for that light? Thanks

Yes, but it requires the correct scanner. A standard scanner won't cut it.

The battery in that sensor could be dead. It is about 8 years old by now and they're only supposed to last 10 years.

Yes the dealer will the scanner and the sensor (and battery) is on the valve stem inside the tire. The tire has to be broken down to access it. Some tire places also have the scanner so that they can replace the valve sensors too.

Don't forget to check the pressure on the spare tire. This is often overlooked with the tire pressure monitoring system light.

The spare usually doesn't have a sensor and will trigger the light when the spare is installed.

If you don't have the right type of scanner, you're wasting your time.
